Description
This was a commissioned painting for a very respected boss and it was a surprise. The first time I went to this site, it was a very cloudy and overcast day, but I had to see what I was going to paint! I had to carefully plan my next trip to the Dismas House when the sun was shining, because I had to have those cast shadows. I was thrilled when I saw the building and grounds. It is a very beautiful place. I used Daniel Smith watercolors that just make your eyes sing when you see the color glowing and mingling when mixed with water. Water is the instrument that makes them move. My clients were very pleased with this painting and so was their boss. I appreciated very much the opportunity to do this artwork.
