Description

A few years ago, we traveled to Hawthorne Valley in West Virginia in the Fall. I really felt it was one of the most beautiful places on earth. We played golf in the mountains and watched deer munch on apples while still on the tree. This creek was behind our hotel. One morning, I walked out back to get a better look. I couldn't believe it, it was breathtaking, but of course, the picture I wanted was in the middle of the stream! My husband said, "I will get it for you." He had his dress shoes on and proceeded to carefully step on the rocks in the creek until he got to the place where I needed the photo. Well, it was worth it! When I got home, I decided this should be an impressionist painting, done in "Monet's" style. I researched his palette, bought the colors and then decided I would go even further...I decided to paint it only with a palette knife! This is the result.
