I saw this girl at Derby time. She was posing for pictures. Several people were taking pictures. I just thought she was charming and maybe a little bit coy. What really got my attention was the hat. I used manganese blue, ultramarine blue and cerulean blue to paint it. I loved the contrasting brown with it. I especially liked the shadow on the hat. I decided to keep the background loose and just have fun painting it.
