"Horses and Roses" is a beautiful scene in our Kentucky Derby state! Grazing in the grass for their future races, these horses are enjoying a sunny summer day in my old Kentucky home! Our Kentucky Derby is the biggest event in our state and is internationally known. This is near Harris Stables outside of Bardstown, Kentucky. I couldn't wait to paint this picture. I painted it in watercolor, planning what colors I would use and how I would do it. This painting sold in the historic Brown Hotel Gallery & Gift Shop. "Horses and Roses" has been featured in several printed publications. It also was featured on the poster and postcard for the art show at the Brown Hotel.
