A group of watercolorists went to a day lily garden with over 200 varieties of day lilies. I took a full sheet of watercolor paper in the hot mid-July sun and attempted to paint as many lilies as possible. Needless to say, I couldn't finish it in a day, so I went back the next day, alone, and finished my painting. The first day, I just couldn't understand why so many of the painters sat in the shade and on the swing and just chit-chatted the day away. To me, it was a wasted opportunity.
