Description
It was a beautiful morning for painting en plein air on the Ohio River bank. I decided to do something different. I painted a square landscape instead of horizontal. I just thought it would be interesting! I sat up my easel and got out my oil paints and canvas. I loved the kayaks on the dock. The bright colors showed up well against the earthtones. The next week I went back to the same location at Belknap Beach, just up the river from downtown Louisville. I painted a companion piece to Kayaks. It is a square, same size and dimension. It is called Sailboats at Twelve Mile Island.
