Description
I went to a work shop in San Diego, California. We painted people, animals, boats, and buildings. It was a very busy, intense workshop. It was very stimulating and inspiring! This is one of the artist that took the workshop. We were on a boat ride to Coronado Island. She looked so relaxed and pleasant that I thought this was a great pose. A few months after I arrived home, I decided to paint her picture. This painting took quite a bit more time than I had planned. Just figuring out the colors, the layering, and the subtleties in her face, requires more attention to detail. The people we painted during the workshop were more like a quick gesture, and the paintings were loose. This painting is more like portraiture.
