We went to South Dakota a couple of years ago. One of the things we wanted to see most was the buffalo in Custer State Park. We drove almost all of the way through the park without seeing any up close. Finally, we rounded a curve and there they were, filling the roadway, the hillside and the creek!!! We stopped immediately and we were surrounded by buffalo. It was exciting and unnerving. We waited for them to move and then very, very slowly, we crept our car onward. The mothers had their babies, they were coming up out of the creek, all going in the same direction. Talk about unity!
